?Speaking about his masterclass unbeaten 80 against the Barbados Tridents on Thursday night, Darren Bravo says that he was always one shot away from his best.
The dapper left hander came to life after a lacklustre tournament to date, to spur his team to a healthy 184 for three after 20 overs. Tridents in reply could muster only 112 all out, going under by 72 runs.
He tallied 80 not out from 44 balls–getting his last 62 runs from 16 balls.
He sent the local fans wild with his awesome hitting, counting seven sixes and four fours in the end.
Speaking about his display he said: "I was not having the best of tournaments but I have been working hard on my game and I know that I was always just one shot away from regaining my best. I thought the shot I played over cover in the last game put things in order and I was able to go out there and do it for the team.
"Whilst batting with my brother (Dwayne Bravo) he kept telling me to keep my eyes on the ball and I did just that and was able to put it away."
Darren was severe on one of the best bowlers in the Caribbean, Ravi Rampaul.
"Of course Ravi is a world class performer and I was able to get the better of him this time around.
"I just kept my focus, someone had to do it for the team and tonight was my chance and I did just that, going out there and battling and ensuring we got the vital win.
"Hopefully we can repeat the performance in the next match and other games to come and give the fans something to smile about."
