National golfers Carlos Baynes and Richard Camacho are now two strokes ahead of the field after round two in the Francis/Steele-Perkins category (seniors) of the Caribbean Amateur Golf Championships in Jamaica, yesterday.
Baynes and Camacho shot 71 in round two and now has an overall score of 141. Trailing Baynes and Camacho are Barbadians Robert Piggot and Michael Haynes with a score of 143, while Michael Wight and Tracy Moore of Cayman Islands are third with 144 strokes. Baynes and Camacho were in a three-way tie for second place after round one.
In the Higgs and Higgs category (super seniors), T&T's Fabian Lee Foon and Barry Ferdinand are three strokes behind leaders Vernon Wells and Bobby Rose of the Bahamas.
T&T's Ysabelle Lawrence fell off the pace in the George Teale Memorial Trophy (women), ending round two in sixth place overall with score of 160. At the end of round one Lawrence was in second position. Also competing in the category for T&T are Serena Mackenzie and Christina Ferreira. Mackenzie is tied for seventh overall, while Ferreira is 17th among the 23 players.
In the Hoerman Cup (men), Andrei Collins is the top T&T golfer tied for 11th overall.
