Roger Duncan and Triston Grant scored two goals each as Petrotrin spanked Notre Dame 6-0 to capture a second straight T&T Hockey Board Men's Championship title at the National Hockey Centre, Tacarigua on Sunday.
Duncan scored his goals in the 14th and 20th minutes for the Oilmen while Grant netted in the 55th and 60th minute after Atiba Whittington and Ron Alexander found the mark in the eighth and 42nd minute respectively.
However, Petrotrin faces the possibility of being stripped of the men's title pending clarification of a possible breach in the T&THB Outdoor League regulations through the use of Grant.
The Women's Championship Division Big-Four line-up is already completed with Paragon, fresh of claiming a third straight league title being joined by Shandy Carib Magnolias, Harvard Checkers and Notre Dame for the July 6-10 round-robin tournament.
It was the second win in three days for Petrotrin who also slipped past Paragon 5-2 on Friday night at the same venue led by a double from Whittington, in the 20th and 48th.
The trio of Dwain Quan Chan (fourth), Evan Farrell (36th) and Solomon Eccles (40th) were also on target for Petrotrin to cancel out efforts from Joel Daniel (52nd) and Kelon Skeritt (59th) for Paragon.
With the back-to-back victories, Petrotrin ended its campaign with 18 points, two more than Courts Malvern while Queen's Park Cricket Club (15) and Paragon (12) were third and fourth respectively to complete the line-up for the "Big-Four" Championship which serves off tomorrow (Wednesday) at Tacarigua.
On Thursday last, Queen's Park crushed Notre Dame 8-0 with braces from Shawn Leequay (18th, 35th) and Marcus Pascal (21st, 56th) and one apiece from Ryan Daniel (14th), Damion Bright (34th), Jordan Reynos (55th) and Dominic Young (59th) while Malvern won over the same opponents, 5-0 with Tariq Marcano, his younger brother Teague Marcano, Lyndel Byer, Jacques Poon-Lewis and Jessie Jeshajah-Drayton the scorers.
Meanwhile, Paragon ended its five matches league campaign with 13 points, the same as Shandy Carib Magnolias, but with a better goal-difference of plus-15 to plus-11 while Checkers tallied nine, and Notre Dame, fourth with six points.
This year's Big 4 tournament is being sponsored by the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs, the Sport Company of Trinidad and Tobago and Blue Waters.
