Two-time reigning Digicel T&T Pro League champions, Central FC will be going after a third straight league win when they face Defence Force in the feature match of a double-header at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva from 7.30 pm.
Already winners of the Digicel Charity Shield this season, Central FC, are expected to welcome back national goalkeeper Jan-Michael Williams from international duty with the Soca Warriors as they seek to add to wins over W Connection and Club Sando, both by 2-1 margins.
However, national captain and striker, Kenwyne Jones is expected to be a notable absentee for coach Dale Saunders, as he picked up an ankle injury in the Caribbean Football Union Third Round 2-0 loss by T&T away to Martinique on Tuesday night, and should be sidelined for at least two weeks.
Defence Force, coming off a last gasp 2-1 win over San Juan Jabloteh, will be looking to the league's all-time leading scorer Devorn Jorsling to spear-head its attack.
In the night's opener, W Connection coach Stuart Charles-Fevrier should also welcome back a host of players from international duty as they go after a first win in three matches.
Coming off a 2-2 draw with Police FC at Couva on Tuesday, W Connection is expected to feature defender Daneil Cyrus (T&T), goalkeeper Julani Archibald and defensive midfielder Gerard Williams (St Kitts/Nevis) and Dimitrie Apai (Suriname) all from national team duties in the CFU Cup and Gold Gup qualifiers.
However, national midfielder Hughtun Hector (heel) and Alvin Jones (on trial at Toronto FC) are still unavailable.
Club Sando are also yet to win a match after they were beaten by Jabloteh 1-0 in their opener, but last year they pulled off some impressive results against W Connection, and should not be discounted.
On Sunday, Morvant Caledonia United host cross-town rivals San Juan Jabloteh in the Digicel Pro League at the Morvant Recreation Ground, Park Street from 4 pm while play returns to Couva on Tuesday when Ma Pau Stars take on St Ann's Rangers from 6 pm, preceding an 8 pm kick off between Pt Fortin Civic and Police FC.
