Industrial Gases Limited (IGL) asserted their lead at the top of Group A of the Super Industrial Services Limited Industrial Cricket League 2012, with a very tight victory over their opponents, Phoenix Park Gas Processors Limited (PPGPL). After winning the toss, PPGPL elected to bat. At first, the batting of PPGPL seemed dismal with the team struggling to attain runs whilst wickets fell at a steady rate. After their allotted ten overs, PPGPL made a competitive 64 runs, most of it coming from extras. Top scoring for PPGPL was C Harbajan, who made 12 runs.
IGL went in to bat with what was no doubt a clear focus on the task at hand. Having performed well in the league thus far, they fancied their chances against a struggling PPGPL team.
