National defender Carlyle Mitchell has completed his contract with Seoul E-Land FC in South Korea and is on the search for a new club for the 2017 season.
The former Vancouver Whitecaps player has been a regular in the T&T team, scoring two goals in back-to-back appearances, with two clinical headers in the 3-1 loss to Honduras and the 3-1 victory over Nicaragua last week in Managua.
"I felt great coming off two goals in two matches for the national team.
"My confidence has been good as we headed into the these Gold Cup qualifiers which are very important matches for the team, the coaching staff and players," Mitchell said.
"Once the Suriname game is out of the way, now we have to focus on Haiti.
"The coach has put down his feet and trying to set an example for the team.
"After that we have the two qualifiers in March but I don't want to think that far ahead as yet.
"We can be strong at home for those two games against Panama and Mexico and I believe we can get the results in those matches to get ourselves back in the race."
Mitchell spoke about his club situation, saying: "My two year contract was up in December.
"We didn't come to a new agreement so we part ways but my agent is working on some things at the moment and pretty soon I should know what's next for me."

Aubrey returns to Costa Rica's Saprissa
National defender Aubrey David is set to return to Costa Rican club Deportivo Saprissa.
The former Caledonia AIA player completed his loan move to Dallas FC in the MLS and will fly back to Costa Rica after the two CFU playoff matches against Suriname and Haiti this month.
"I will return to Saprissa after we play Haiti. I still have until May on my contract there so I will see whether they will send me out on loan again or whether I will remain there and then see what happens in May," David said.
"I feel good about returning because I enjoyed a good spell at Saprissa earlier on and the club is among the best in Concacaf."
However recent developments have indicated that Saprissa could send David on loan to another club due to a shortage of international spots on their roster at the moment.
Saprissa recently won the Costa Rican national league title.

Sacramento head coach hails Caesar
He has not worn the Sacramento Republic shirt as yet but already national team forward Trevin Caesar is being hailed by club head coach Paul Buckle as a player who will surely bring something to the club for this USL season in the United States.
Caesar was snapped up by the club last week after playing last season for Orange County Blues during which time his impressive showings caught the eye of Buckle.
Trevin is a player that we took serious note of last season," said Buckle. "He has electric pace and scored in the double figures in 2016.
"He is a player that will bring something different to our front line and I am excited to see him join our club."
Caesar who scored ten goals in 26 games last season for the Blues, said he was grateful for the new deal.
"It's a new move for me and one that I am excited about. I felt I had a relatively good season or two at Orange County and now I am looking to continue with a new challenge at Sacramento and play my part in helping the club reach higher heights," Caesar said.
Another T&T forward, Willis Plaza also signed a couple weeks ago for Indian club East Bengal of the I-League.
