Wilson splashes gold medal

Zarek Wilson

Zarek Wilson earned the first gold medal for T&T and the entire English speaking Caribbean when he won the 11-12 boys 100 metres backstroke even at the UANA Swimming Cup in Coral Springs, Florida, United States.

Wilson stopped the clock in 1:07.63 seconds. The silver went to Mexico's Arellane Nangullasmú (1:08.80) with Colombia's Simon Bermudez (1:11.08) secured the bronze.

Kael Yorke was T&T's second medal winner of the meet winning bronze in the 15 - 17 boys 100m butterfly event.
