T&T's Ahkeel Boyd drained 12 points as the T&T 3X3 basketball Under-23 men's team defeated El Salvador 22-13 in their second game of the Youth Pan American Games in Cali, Colombia on Friday.
Boyd, who represented the red, white and black of T&T with credit in the shoot-out by sinking five out of his allotted 10 shots on Thursday, was again in the spotlight at the Pan American Courts in Cancha, to lift his team past a battling El Salvadorian outfit.
His brother Ahkeem Boyd also contributed eight points to the win, while the pair of Joel Lewis and Mikhail Phillips both sank a point each that also proved to be crucial to the TT triumph.
El Salvador's exploits were led by nine baskets from Pablo Moises Figueroa Umana and three from Benjamin Alexander Colocho Carranza in the fightback. The other point was scored by Kevin Alexis Martinez Turcios.
