Founded in 2014, Conflict Women financially empowers survivors of domestic violence and rape by providing entrepreneurship programmes, business mentorship and seed capital to launch or expand their small businesses through our Survivor Entrepreneurship Pitch Competition.
Their Butterfly Project workshops have provided pro-bono livelihood skills training to hundreds of rape and domestic violence survivors over the past 11 years, in business development, accounting, sales, yoga for trauma, equine therapy, jewellery making, pottery and art.
In addition to the first responder services they offer, they recently launched a Pro Bono Legal Panel, matching survivors with attorneys specialising in family law, who provide them with legal representation in courts on key matters of protection orders, custody and maintenance.
According to the release, the organisation believes in the role of sports in contributing to holistic development and wellness and is happy to have partnered with the Brechin Castle Golf Club for this event, the first of many more to come.
“Select donors and partners over the years include the British High Commission, PSI Caribbean, Ernst & Young, Unicomer, Hyatt Regency, and the Bankers Association of T&T,” the release added.
