The two semifinalists from the six-team Abercrombie Group in the First Citizens Cup are still far from being decided after the two matches played at the Diego Martin Sporting Complex in Bagatelle, Diego Martin, on Friday night.
In the opener, Central FC and Police battled to a 2-2 deadlock while in the second match Defence Force and W Connection also fought out a similar result to leave all four clubs on four points from three matches, two behind Terminix La Horquetta Rangers, who meet bottom-club Pt Fortin Civic in the first match of a double-header at Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva, on Saturday. The second match from 6 pm will feature Tiger Tanks Club Sando and San Juan Jabloteh in the Immortelle Group while two more matches are carded for Sunday at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo.
The tournament is being contested via a round-robin format with two groups of six teams each. At the end of the round-robin phase, the top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-final in which the winners of that round will earn the right to contest the $75,000 winners' prize, while the runners-up with pocket $25,000.
