Zoe Anthony and Cadell Lyons both won two events each on the opening night of the National Open Long Course Swimming Championships at the National Aquatic Centre, in Balmain, Couva on Thursday night.
Anthony won the 13-14 girls 800m freestyle in nine minutes, 49.30 seconds in the A standard qualifying time for the and also topped the 200 metres individual medley in two minutes, 37.21 seconds
Lyons outclassed his rivals in the 18 & over 100m freestyle in 51.95 seconds followed by Jeron Thompson who clocked 52.35.
He then won the 100m butterfly in 56.13 seconds, with Mark Anthony Beckles, second in 57.04.
This meet is a qualifier for the ing with A and B times to participate in the Central American and Caribbean Swimming Confederation (CCCAN) which will be held in Barbados from June 24 to July 8, 2019.
This meet is also a qualifier for the 18th FINA World Championships to be held in Gwangju Korea from the 12th to the 28th July 2019.
