Amari Ash of Blue Light­ning Swim Club added her name to the list of record break­ers on the fi­nal night of com­pe­ti­tion in the four-day Aquat­ic Sports As­so­ci­a­tion of T&T (ASATT) Na­tion­al Open Short Course Cham­pi­onship at the Na­tion­al Aquat­ic Cen­tre in Bal­main, Cou­va, on Sun­day.

This af­ter the 16-year-old topped her ri­vals in the 11 and Over girls' 100 me­tres In­di­vid­ual Med­ley in one minute and 08.47 sec­onds, to im­prove on her mark of one minute and 08.56 sec­onds. Sec­ond in the event was Blue Dol­phins' Kiara Goodridge in one minute, 11.22 sec­onds while At­lantis Aquat­ics' Amelia Ra­jack took the third spot in one minute, 12.23 sec­onds.

Else­where, Blue Light­ning's Za­lay­har Lewis con­tin­ued her dom­i­nance with four more wins on the night while her club­mate Aiden Nixon won three, and the trio of Goodridge, Dar­ren Bel­fon, and Zachary An­tho­ny, two each.

Lewis, ten, swam to vic­to­ry in the ten and Un­der 200m in­di­vid­ual med­ley in two min­utes, 53.80 sec­onds; the 100m back­stroke in one minute, 20.57 sec­onds; the 50m but­ter­fly in 34.23 sec­onds, and the 50m freestyle in 30.83

Nixon cap­tured the top spot in the ten and Un­der boys 100m back­stroke in one minute, 19.97 sec­onds; the 50m but­ter­fly in 34.10, and the 50m freestyle in 31.88.

Goodridge, 17, was a win­ner in the 11 and Over girls' 400m freestyle in four min­utes, 36.06 sec­onds, and the 200m back­stroke in two min­utes, 31.39 sec­onds.

The 14-year-old Bel­fon won the 11 and Over boys' 400m freestyle in four min­utes, 15.75 sec­onds, and the 200m back­stroke in two min­utes, 06.06 sec­onds

The 15-year-old An­tho­ny won the 11 and Over boys' 50m freestyle in 23.33, and the 200m but­ter­fly in two min­utes, 09.31 sec­onds.

The oth­er in­di­vid­ual win­ners on Sun­day were Olympian Cherelle Thomp­son, Ra­jack, Syd­ney Look Fong, Josi­ah Changar, Mic­ah Alexan­der and Rique­lio Joseph.

The quar­tet of Joseph, Keryn Burke, Ra­jack and Mal­ick Nel­son led At­lantis to the 11 and Over mixed freestyle re­lay in one minute, 43.56 sec­onds while Julius En­nals, Za­hara An­tho­ny, Zion George, and Elin Stone com­bined to se­cure the ten and Un­der 200m freestyle re­lay time for Mar­lins in two min­utes, 20.82 sec­onds.
