Champions Central Sports completed their second consecutive win of the T&T Cricket Board's Premier Division, defeating Victoria by six wickets at Felicity, on Sunday.
With the defending champions leading by 33 runs at the end of the first day, the match became a second innings match with Victoria beginning its second innings at the start of the day.
Victoria made only 140 in the second innings with Suraj Seepaual getting a top score of 27. Former national leg spinner Imran Khan grabbed five for 36 to give the home team the advantage and a small target of 108 to win.
Central Sports lost four wickets on their way to the target with Jabari Mills getting the top score of 31 and Derone Davis made 25 not out as they won by six wickets. Former Powergen spinner Damion Joachim took two for 57 in the losing effort.
At the Queen’s Park Oval in St Clair, Port-of-Spain, Powergen won first innings by two runs after the Parkites were bowled out for 270, just two runs shy of Powergen’s score.
After openers Kyle Ramdoo (52) and Jordan Warner (57) opening stand of 91, the Tragarete Road team went on a slump and were 175 for 9. It took Terrence Hinds 81 not out and Philton Williams (10) to put together a 95-run partnership to take the Parkites close to the target, but Uthman Muhammad ended the innings with the wicket of Williams, trapped leg before for the two-run first-innings honours.
