Na­tion­al goal­keep­er Christo­pher Biggette played a star­ring role as de­fend­ing cham­pi­ons Not Jus Fun se­cured a spot in the quar­ter­fi­nals of the Har­vard Sports Club April Fest Wind­ball (8 overs) Crick­et Tour­na­ment af­ter top­ping the three-team qual­i­fy­ing play­offs at the Har­vard Sports Club, 106 Tra­garete Road, Port-of-Spain, on Sat­ur­day.

In their first match, Not Jus Fun de­feat­ed Valdez Youtsh by 16 runs with Biggette hit­ting a top score of 14 runs for the win­ners, while in their sec­ond and fi­nal en­counter, Biggette again top scored with 13 runs, while his broth­ers Gabriel Biggette added eight runs as they suc­cess­ful­ly chased a tar­get of 32 runs set by Trav­ellers to win by four wick­ets.

Join­ing Not Jus Fun in the quar­ter­fi­nals from the three-team play­ers was Trav­ellers, who de­feat­ed Valdez Youths by six wick­ets in the open­ing match, which was re­duced to five overs per side due to rain.

The tour­na­ment re­sumes on Fri­day with the first of the quar­ter­fi­nals fea­tur­ing D’Drinks Spot and Not Jus Fun from 7.30 pm, fol­lowed by D’Crush­ers and Friends 4 Life from 9 pm.

And on Sat­ur­day, May 24, Hit List comes up against Trav­ellers in the open­er from 8 pm, fol­lowed by Ban From D’Park and Uni­ver­sal Flip­pers from 9.30 pm.

When the round-robin phase end­ed, D’Drinks Spot, Uni­ver­sal Flip­pers and Not Jus Full all end­ed with 2-1 records and six points each; how­ev­er, D’Drinks Spot and Uni­ver­sal Flip­pers ad­vanced straight to the quar­ter­fi­nals ahead of de­fend­ing cham­pi­on Not Jus Fun via su­pe­ri­or net run rates.

Hit List topped Group B with a max­i­mum of nine points and was joined in the last eight by run­ner-up D’Crush­ers, while in Group C, Ban From D Park topped the ta­ble ahead of Friends 4 Life. The semi­fi­nals are card­ed for Fri­day, May 30 from 7.30 pm, and the third place match and fi­nal, one day lat­er at the same time.
