Abigail Chin Lee followed up on her successes in the Methanol Holding Junior Tennis tournament last year in the under-10 division by claiming the title in the Girls Singles Under-12 category of the Lease Operators Tennis Tournament at the Country Club Maraval on Sunday.
Under rainy skies, Chin Lee the number one seed, clobbered Eva Pasea in straight sets in the final 4-0, 4-0 on court four, and hardly broke a sweat in the process.
Later Chin Lee teamed up with her sister Inara Chin Lee, to take the girls Under-12 doubles crown by beating the pair of Pasea and Kate Broughton 4-2, 4-1.
The Boys' Under-12 singles title was sewed up by Marcos West who eked out a 4-3, 4-2 triumph against Isaiah Boxill.
On a day of finals, Josiah Hills was the first to put his hand on a silverware at stake, when he defeated Zakariyya Mohammed 5-3, 3-5, 10-8 for the boys' Under-10 title.
In other finals- Gabriella Prince took care of Shiloh Walker for the girls Under-10 singles 4-2, 4-5, 10-8: Beckham Sylvester triumphed over James Hadden 6-1, 7-6(3) for the boys Under-14 singles: Sebastian Sylvester battled to a hard-fought 7-6(5), 2-6, 10-6 victory over Ethan Wong for the boys Under-16 title: Aalisha Alexis got the edge over Isabel Abraham 6-2, 6-4.
Meanwhile, in the round-robin u-18 play-off, Osenyonye N'wokolo earned an easy walk-over victory over Kimberly Sabga to secure the overall girls singles win, ahead of Abigail Jones. In the boys equivalent, Luca Shamsi was the overall winner, despite not taking the courts yesterday.
