Shivnarine Chanderpaul yesterday achieved another magical milestone in his outstanding cricket career. The ever-reliable left-hander reached 19,000 in his first-class career as he made 20 in the second innings for Lancashire against Somerset in their English County Championship match.
In the first innings of the match he made 56–his 97th first-class half-century and now his numbers show 19,007 runs in 260 first-class match in a career which has spanned 18 years. Unfortunately he ended up on the losing side as Somerset had an easy victory by nine wickets at the County Ground in Taunton.
