GEORGE­TOWN, Guyana – Thomas Doo­ley has ar­rived in Guyana to take up his new po­si­tion as head coach of the men’s se­nior na­tion­al foot­ball team.

The 64-year-old Doo­ley, a for­mer Unit­ed States in­ter­na­tion­al who holds a UE­FA Pro Li­cence—the high­est cer­ti­fi­ca­tion in foot­ball coach­ing glob­al­ly, is set to have his first train­ing ses­sions with na­tion­al play­ers.

Doo­ley said he was ho­n­oured and ex­cit­ed to take on his new role and praised the skill lev­el of the Gold­en Jaguars.

“I have been deeply im­pressed by the tal­ent and po­ten­tial of this group of play­ers, and I firm­ly be­lieve they can achieve even greater heights,” Doo­ley said.

His im­me­di­ate fo­cus will be on as­sess­ing the cur­rent play­er pool, build­ing out his tech­ni­cal team, and prepar­ing for fu­ture in­ter­na­tion­al tour­na­ments.

Pres­i­dent of the Guyana Foot­ball Fed­er­a­tion (GFF), Wayne Forde, said he be­lieved Doo­ley was the right man for the job as he “brings a full set of tools and ex­per­tise” for the fed­er­a­tion’s new di­rec­tion.
