Red Force all-rounder Rayad Emrit has been in great form in the Seenath’s Auto and Raj Spare Parts T20 cricket series at Bamboo Number Two.
Emrit playing for Police has stamped his class in the inaugural tournament with both bat and ball. In the first game, the top-scored for Police with 52, as they made 150/8 off their 20 overs. He then grabbed two wickets for 24 runs, as Aranguez made 139/5 in reply – losing the game by 11 runs.
In Police’s second game, Emrit was also the star, although they went under to an impressive Titans unit. Emrit stroked an aggressive unbeaten 70 to take Police to 176/7 batting first. He then turned the match on its head with figures of 3/39 but did not get the required support and Titans ran away victors by five wickets.
Fellow all-rounder Akeal Hosein was the star of the show for Titans, as he took two wickets and also scored 56 runs in the run chase.
The first century of the tournament was scored by Vishan Jaggessar who has also taken a fair share of the headlines at this tournament. Jaggessar slapped an unbeaten 112 to lead Bamboo Strikers to 240 for five. EYM, in turn, made 167 all out giving Bamboo Strikers the win by 73 runs. In Bamboo Strikers second game Titans Jaggessar was the star with the ball, taking four wickets. Titans 153/8 off 20 overs with Hosein getting 37 and Leonardo Julien 29. Jaggessar snared 4/13 and then saw Akeem Alvares with 68 not out and Saiba Batoosingh 43 carry Bamboo Strikers to 154/3 for the win.
