Seasoned journalist, televisionproducerand newscaster, Hema Ramkissoon has joined the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association of Football (Concacaf) as Head of Communications. Ramkisson, who has worked with CNC3, CNMG and CL Communications, will now be responsible for shaping the image of the organisation both locally and overseas.
Concacaf, one of six continental confederations of FIFA, is made up of 40 national associations, from Canada in thenorth to Suriname in the South. An award-winning journalist, Ramkisson said that her decision to leave the world of mediaand join Concacaf was prompted by the multi-dimensional facetsof communication which her responsibilities covered.
She defined her position as"a mix of mediamanagement, producing, writing and presenting all wrapped up in one." Even though she will be based at the Concacaf office in Port-of-Spain, Ramkissoon's role willtake her to several parts of the global organisation's offices.
Her responsibilities will include the creation of national, regional and international awareness programmes for Concacaf as well as internal communications for the organisation.
