With leader Cli­co San Juan Jabloteh on a bye, sec­ond place Cale­do­nia AIA of Mor­vant/Laven­tille could jump in­to top spot with a draw or win when it comes up against W Con­nec­tion tonight. The clash be­tween Cale­do­nia and W Con­nec­tion comes off at the Mar­vin Lee Sta­di­um, Ma­coya from 8.30 pm as part of a "Su­per Fri­day" dou­ble-head­er.

Two hours ear­li­er, bmo­bile Joe Pub­lic, fresh off a 4-0 maul­ing of Jabloteh on Tues­day, tack­les St Ann's Rangers. Jabloteh cur­rent­ly leads the ta­ble with 20 points from nine match­es, one ahead of Cale­do­nia who has a match in hand. Joe Pub­lic is third with 15 points, fol­lowed by Ma Pau (13) and Unit­ed Petrotrin and W Con­nec­tion, both on 12. But tonight, all at­ten­tion will be on the en­counter be­tween Cale­do­nia and W Con­nec­tion, which will be void of a num­ber of top play­ers due to na­tion­al team du­ty.

W Con­nec­tion, which has en­dured a tough start to the league cam­paign goes with six first team play­ers miss­ing due to na­tion­al team du­ty.

Goal­keep­ers Mar­vin Phillips and Jan-Michael Williams, Kern Cu­pid, Hughton Hec­tor, An­dre Tou­s­saint and Clyde Leon were all named in coach Rus­sell Lat­apy's So­ca War­riors team which de­parts to­day for St Kitts/Nevis for a friend­ly in­ter­na­tion­al against that coun­try on Sun­day.

For Cale­do­nia, Radan­fah Abu Bakr will al­so be ab­sent due to na­tion­al team du­ties. Den­sill Theobald and Keon Daniel, will not trav­el with the team be­cause of in­jury. Joe Pub­lic will be favourites to con­tin­ue its climb up the ta­ble, and will wel­come back Dale Saun­ders and Go­ri­an High­ley from sus­pen­sions while Keyeno Thomas, Hay­den Tin­to and league top scor­er Ker­ry Bap­tiste will be on na­tion­al team du­ty.
