While Forty Fivers are listed as the home team, home advantage will come to nought as they host Headquarters in round eight of the National Pool League (NPL) this evening from 8 pm.
Both teams share the Headquarters’ venue in Penal and apart from valuable points, bragging rights will definitely be on their minds.
Headquarters, the better team on paper, have been holding down the fourth spot on the NPL table for the past few weeks but stable mates Forty Fivers, who are in the bottom half of the standings, will be confident after their two wins so far in the tournament have come against teams who have beaten Headquarters. Their most recent, a 4-1 thrashing of Foxys last week in round seven.
Foxys will be looking to bounce back tonight when they host second-placed Pit ‘N’ Pub at their Marabella base and Jerry’s, the other Forty Fivers casualty, will have to win away from home at Kenny’s Sports Bar in Chaguanas if they want to hold on to a top three spot.
The other two matches on tap this evening see table-toppers United Stars host Upper Deck in Debe and Liquidatorz host Dekko Sports Bar at Duncan Village.
Meanwhile, the Billiards Sports Organisation of T&T (BSOTT) is in the process of selecting a national team to face Guyana from May 29 to June 5. National qualifiers began on Monday night at the Golden Arches in Curepe and will run for the next five weeks.
During its visit, the Guyanese team will play three nights in Trinidad and two nights in Tobago.
