Kadeem Fred­er­ick scored the lone goal as Cen­tral/East­ern Di­vi­sion edged West­ern Di­vi­sion 1-0 to be cer­tain of a semi­fi­nal spot in the 110th an­niver­sary of the Port-of-Spain Cor­po­ra­tion Foot­ball League Tour­na­ment at Nel­son Man­dela Park, St Clair on Fri­day night.

With the win, Cen­tral/East­ern joined fel­low un­beat­en team Trans­port & Cleans­ing in a two-way share of the lead on the sev­en-team ta­ble with 13 points from five match­es and con­firmed as two of the semi­fi­nals qual­i­fiers ahead of their fi­nal round clash on Mon­day from 6 pm.

In an­oth­er match on Fri­day night, Sean Ram­doo scored both goals to fire Cen­tral Mar­ket to a com­fort­able 2-0 tri­umph over cel­lar-placed Cor­po­ra­tion Vet­er­ans to im­prove to eight points in the third spot, and need­ing on­ly a draw in their fi­nal match against fifth placed Pub­lic Health, who have five points to ad­vance to the semis.

Pub­lic Health stay in the semi­fi­nal hunt fol­low­ing a 1-1 draw with City Hall with Kern Mal­colm strike be­ing can­celled out by Jabari Raphael.

Fol­low­ing the con­clu­sion of the round-robin phase of the com­pe­ti­tion on Mon­day, the top four teams will con­test the semi­fi­nals on Wednes­day, Ju­ly 10 fol­lowed by the third place play­off and fi­nal on Fri­day, Ju­ly 12.
