GEORGE­TOWN, Guyana – The Guyana Bas­ket­ball Fed­er­a­tion (GFF) has named a four-man squad to take part in the up­com­ing 2025 FI­BA 3×3 Amer­iCup.

The tour­na­ment, which will be held in Leon, Mex­i­co, will run from No­vem­ber 27-30.

Guyana has been placed in Group A of the qual­i­fy­ing round, where they will face Ja­maica and St Lu­cia on No­vem­ber 27.

US-based Dey­lon Bovell, who will be mak­ing his Amer­iCup de­but, leads the team that in­cludes Nikkoloi Smith, Travis Bel­grave and Harold Adams, three play­ers with pri­or Amer­iCup ex­pe­ri­ence.

The com­bi­na­tion of ex­pe­ri­enced cam­paign­ers and new blood presents what the GBF be­lieves to be a well-bal­anced mix for suc­cess.

GBF Pres­i­dent Michael Singh said Bovell’s in­clu­sion was a big boost to the team.

“Dey­lon has al­ways been com­mit­ted to rep­re­sent­ing Guyana. He un­der­stands the 3×3 game, he’s sea­soned, and we be­lieve he will bring a fresh dy­nam­ic to the squad,” Singh said.

Should Guyana ad­vance, they will join Puer­to Ri­co and the Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic in Group B of the main draw.

The re­main­ing teams al­ready placed in the main field in­clude Mex­i­co (hosts), de­fend­ing cham­pi­ons USA, Cana­da, Cay­man Is­lands, Chile, Brazil, and Ar­genti­na.

Oth­er coun­tries par­tic­i­pat­ing in the qual­i­fiers are Trinidad and To­ba­go, St Kitts and Nevis, Haiti, The Ba­hamas, Venezuela, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Ecuador.
