Mickel Gormandy, Ishan Miller and Rayan Francette also were celebrated as the “Most Valuable Player” in their respective divisions of the Carapichaima Youth Football Super League on Saturday at the Central Regional Indoor Sports Arena in Chaguanas.
Gormandy scored three goals to help the M12 Revolution win the Under-13 title. In the final, M12, coached by national women footballer Ahkeela Mollon defeated Crown Trace 4-1. Also scoring for the winner was Mahkaya Mahon.
Jayden Bartholomew netted the lone item for Crown Trace.
This after M12 defeated Cap off Youths 2-0 with goals by Gormandy, who also scored a double in his team’s dominating 6-0 win over Cap OFF Youths in the quarterfinals. Also scoring for the winning team were Mahkaya Mahon (2) and Jonathan Rodriguez (2).
In the U-11 final, Miller scored a beaver-trick to see Trendsetter Hawks to a 4-1 victory over Cap Off Youths. Cap off Youths’ consolation goal was scored by Fidel Perriera. Trendsetter Hawks remained undisputed U-11 champion after winning the division for a second consecutive year.
In the U-11 semifinals, Trendsetter Hawks edged M12 Revolution 1-0 with a goal from Jaseem Celestine while in the quarterfinals, the Hawks defeated Crown Trace FC 2-0 with a goal each from Miller and Jaquan Phillip.
Earlier, Francette scored a goal for M12 Revolution in the U-9 final to defeat Trendsetter Hawks 3-0. Francette’s teammate Mikhai Nedd netted a pair of goals in the lopsided win.
M12 advance from the semifinal round with a 3-0 win over Crown Trace 3-0 with goals by Francette scored two goals and Nedd added the other.
In the quarterfinals, the U-9 of M12 mauled San Fernando Sports 8-0 with Francette and Tiago Nakid each scoring a double and one each from Nedd, Jemu Vance, Chase Simon and Kaiden Pierre in the 19th edition of the competition which saw 36 teams compete in the U-9, U-11, U-13 and U-15 divisions with trophies and medals sponsored by Croisee Supermarket Limited.
