Elisha Greene Jr and Josiah Prince reigned supreme on the final day of the National Cycling Championships for Juveniles, Tinymites, and Masters riders at the National Cycling Centre (NCC) in Balmain, Couva.
Both dominated the day to clinch national titles in the Individual Pursuit and the Time Trials. In the 4-lap individual pursuit for tinymites, Greene proved to be a cut above the rest, leaving the field in his wake to cross the line in 1:12.775 to secure the top spot for Team Colesafety Cycling.
Tyler La Foucade of Hummingbird International tried to stay on his heels but eventually dropped behind to cross the finish line in 1:22.309. Recardo Titte completed the top three, posting a time of 1:25.579 for his team, Vapour Wake Multi-Sport.
In the 4-lap Tinymite Time Trial that followed, Greene, who announced himself as the Kilometer Time Trial winner in 2025, showed it was no fluke. He again romped to the national crown ahead of Titte, who bettered his individual pursuit performance to take second place, while Rigtech Sonics' Reon Sheppard secured the bronze.
Prince also showed himself to be worthy of future national selection in the future after two stellar rides in the juvenile category. Like Greene, Prince’s 8-lap individual pursuit challenge ended in triumph, with the Rigtech Sonics rider stopping the clock at 2:42.584 for his first title.
The Raiders Cycle and Multi-Sport pair of Josiah Alexander and Malik Dundas took second and third positions in 2:44.547 and 2:47.802, respectively. However, while Prince featured prominently in the time trial to seal the win and the gold medal, the duo of Alexander and Dundas was forced to make way for Jahziel Jacob (Vapour Wake Multi-Sport) and Adiosie Lewis (Evolution Cycling Academy) in the juvenile male division. Jacob earned the silver medal, while Lewis took home the bronze.
Annelyse Watson left the pair of Melina Lopez and Mia Ballantyne in her trail to be crowned national champion in the individual pursuit. However, when the trio squared off a second time in the 3-lap time trial, Lopez exacted sweet revenge to claim the national title. Watson was unable to challenge for the top two spots, which went to runner-up Ballantyne, leaving Watson in third.
Meanwhile, Ella-Marie Young moved into overdrive to cop the 8-lap individual pursuit. Her attempt at a double crown in the 4-lap Time Trial fell just short, however, as she settled for second place while Rayann Sheppard sealed the gold medal and crown.
Sheldon Ramjit twice prevailed as champion, sweeping the individual pursuit and time trial for the Masters 40-49 division. Facing lone opponent Royden Bacchus, Ramjit, a former national rider, proved his worth in the 12-lap individual pursuit by winning in a time of 3:49.498, before clinching the time trial for Hummingbird International CC.
Roger Malco took the time trial gold for Masters 50-59 but was stopped from claiming a double crown by Adam Monsterin in the individual pursuit, which required them to pedal for eight laps of the NCC track.
Joel Browne rolled back the years to take the crown in the Masters 60-69 category, getting the better of Desmond Roberts and Michael Brown for the time trial award, only for Brown to claim the top prize in the individual pursuit, where Browne was a no-show.
Later in the Masters 70-plus event, Cyril Fook (Valkyries CC) triumphed in the time trial, but Pat Nelson rebounded with the win in the individual pursuit.
