DHARAMSALA – Jason Holder starred with the ball for the Gujarat Titans but it was not enough to prevent them from going down by 92 runs to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Qualifier 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in India on Tuesday.
Holder was the Titan’s best bowler, finishing with 2-39 from his four overs, as RCB compiled a massive 254 for five in their 20 overs after being sent in to bat at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium.
Skipper Rajat Patidar slammed an unbeaten 93 off just 33 balls, laced with nine sixes and five fours, while Virat Kohli and Krunal Pandya both made 43.
The Titans never recovered from being 51 for five inside the powerplay and were eventually dismissed for 162 in 19.3 overs.
Jacob Duffy was the main destroyer with 3-39, while Pandya (2-16), Rasikh Salam (2-24) Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2-28) provided good support.
The result sent RCB into the final for the second straight year, while the Titans will await the winner of the Eliminator between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR).
