DHARAM­SALA – Ja­son Hold­er starred with the ball for the Gu­jarat Ti­tans but it was not enough to pre­vent them from go­ing down by 92 runs to Roy­al Chal­lengers Ben­galu­ru (RCB) in Qual­i­fi­er 1 of the In­di­an Pre­mier League (IPL) in In­dia on Tues­day.

Hold­er was the Ti­tan’s best bowler, fin­ish­ing with 2-39 from his four overs, as RCB com­piled a mas­sive 254 for five in their 20 overs af­ter be­ing sent in to bat at the Hi­machal Pradesh Crick­et As­so­ci­a­tion Sta­di­um.

Skip­per Ra­jat Pati­dar slammed an un­beat­en 93 off just 33 balls, laced with nine six­es and five fours, while Vi­rat Kohli and Krunal Pandya both made 43.

The Ti­tans nev­er re­cov­ered from be­ing 51 for five in­side the pow­er­play and were even­tu­al­ly dis­missed for 162 in 19.3 overs.

Ja­cob Duffy was the main de­stroy­er with 3-39, while Pandya (2-16), Rasikh Salam (2-24) Bhu­vnesh­war Ku­mar (2-28) pro­vid­ed good sup­port.

The re­sult sent RCB in­to the fi­nal for the sec­ond straight year, while the Ti­tans will await the win­ner of the Elim­i­na­tor be­tween Sun­ris­ers Hy­der­abad (SRH) and Ra­jasthan Roy­als (RR).
