Barbadian batsman Kyle Hope was in great form when slapped an unbeaten 138 for First Citizens Clarke Road in the opening round of the TTCB 50 overs tournament against Barrackpore United at Wilson Road, yesterday.
Batting first, Barrackpore made 199 all out and Hope and Nicholas Sookdeosingh made light work of the target reaching 200 or four as Clarke Road continued its good start to the season. Sookdeosingh made an unbeaten 38.
Across at Felicity, Central Sports defeated Prisons by 100 runs. Central Sports batting first reached 318/9 off its 50 overs. Al Small was one of three batsmen getting fifties. Small helped himself to 60, Aaron Alfred got 50 and Alex Antoine crafted a knock of 52.
Prisons in reply got to 218 with Michael Fredericks getting 60 and Jerve Cummings 63. Alex Antoine completed a good match with 3/26, while Rishi Jaipaul grabbed 3/38.
Also on winners row was the mighty Queen's Park which whipped Defence Force by 227 runs. The Parkites batting first reached 342/7 with Red Force batsman Yannic Carriah scoring 113 and all-rounder Akeal Hosein getting 51 not out. Defence Force was then shut out for 115 with off-spinner Jon Russ Jaggessar snaring 5/39, while Khary Pierre took 3/24.
