Dennis La Rose was hoping to bounce back yesterday after his opening loss on Thursday night in the Men's Singles Class Five Group B match at the Parapan American Games in Peru but fell to another straight sets defeat.
Yesterday, at Sports Centre three at the National Sporting Village in Lima, Peru, the local table tennis player met Argentina's Mauro Depergola and went under 3-0 on table two in their Class Five match-up. The class includes people a moderate level of disability and includes people with full use of their arms and hands but limited to no use of their trunk and legs.
The national athlete lost the first set 11-5, then lost the second 11-2. He had a better run in the third as he tried to pull a set back but went under 11-7.
La Rose, who also competed at the 2015 Parapan Games held in Toronto, Canada, lost his first match to another Argentinian, Daniel Rodriguez, 3-0 (11-6, 12-10, 11-1) on Thursday night.
The 58-year-old athlete finished last in the three-player group with two points in the preliminary round-robin phace and did not advance to today's semifinals round.
