The trio of util­i­ty play­er Alvin Jones, mid­field­er Le­ston Paul and Cen­tral Amer­i­can-based strik­er Ri­car­do John were the on­ly new faces named in a 20-man squad by coach Den­nis Lawrence on Thurs­day for T&T's in­ter­na­tion­al friend­ly away to Thai­land on Oc­to­ber 14.

The match will be played at the Suphan Buri Mu­nic­i­pal­i­ty Sta­di­um, Suphan Buri, Thai­land from 6 pm (7am TT time) and will be the first for the Khaleem Hy­land-led T&T squad since its 2-0 de­feat of Unit­ed Arab Emi­rates.

The 24-year-old Jones who has 16 caps to his name is the younger broth­er of Ger­many-based na­tion­al winger Jo­evin Jones and is fa­mous­ly re­mem­bered for his thun­der­bolt of a strike which earned this coun­try a 2-1 win over USA on the fi­nal day of 2018 Con­ca­caf World Cup Fi­nal Round qual­i­fi­ca­tion to dump the lat­ter out of the top four plac­ings and a spot in Rus­sia ear­li­er this year.

For­mer T&T Un­der-17 and Un­der-20 Fi­fa World Cup cap­tain Paul, 28, made the last of his 17 ap­pear­ances for the se­nior na­tion­al team in a 0-0 draw with Mar­tinique in March and is yet to find the back of the net while 23-year-old John who plies his trade in El Sal­vador with Club De­porti­vo Luis An­gel Fir­po has one pre­vi­ous ap­pear­ance for the na­tion­al se­nior team, a 2-2 draw with Grena­da in 2017.

Mak­ing way for the trio from last month's squad were de­fend­er Ne­veal Hack­shaw of Unit­ed Soc­cer League's Charleston Bat­tery, Kathon St Hillaire (SC Zno­j­mo FK—Czech Re­pub­lic), and T&T Pro League top scor­er, W Con­nec­tion strik­er Mar­cus Joseph, the lat­ter of whom is still re­cov­er­ing from an in­jury.

The squad which con­sists of 11 over­seas-based play­ers ba­si­cal­ly re­mains the same from last month with goal­keep­ing duo Adri­an Fon­cette (Po­lice FC) and Mar­vin Phillip (Cen­tral FC) keep­ing their spots along­side de­fend­ers Shel­don Bateau, Daneil Cyrus, Aubrey David, Tris­ton Hodge, Ke­ston Julien and Cur­tis Gon­za­les.

In mid­field­er, Hy­land is joined once again by Ke­van George, Akeem Humphrey, Du­ane Muck­ette, Ataulla Guer­ra, Jo­evin Jones, Nathan Lewis and Jo­mal Williams, while in the at­tack, John and Fin­land-based Shah­don Win­ches­ter will more than like­ly com­pete for the lone start­ing spot.

Still out through in­jury is Is­rael-based winger Levi Gar­cia while there is no room for Su­per League duo, Sean De Sil­va and Yohance Mar­shall, both se­nior na­tion­al team play­ers, and the over­seas-based quar­tet of Run­dell Win­ches­ter, Car­lyle Mitchell, Mekeil Williams and Jamille Boatswain.

In-form Pro League duo, Keron "Ball Pest' Cum­mings of Mor­vant Cale­do­nia Unit­ed and Po­lice FC's Ka­reem Fre­itas al­so failed to earn call-ups de­spite their im­pres­sive do­mes­tic run of forms at present.

In­stead, Lawrence has al­so in­vit­ed three Un­der-21 play­ers to train with the squad on lo­cal soil over the week­end be­fore the team’s de­par­ture for Thai­land in Kier­ron Ma­son, Ju­dah Gar­cia and Tyrese Bai­ley.

The T&T Foot­ball As­so­ci­a­tion (T&TFA) al­so an­nounced that a friend­ly against Iran has been se­cured to be played in Tehran on No­vem­ber 15th.
