Jean-Marc Lee Fai of Powergen and Priyanka Khellawan of Gasparillo Cobras were both victorious in their respective Under-18 Division when the San Fernando Zone Junior Table Tennis Tournament on Sunday.
In the Under-18 Boys final, Lee Fai defeated Fyzabad's Ameer Mohamed 11-3, 111-1, 11-9.
In the semifinals, Lee Fai also won in straight sets versus Sachin Ramsumair 11-9, 11-2, 12-10 and Mohamed rallied past Vheer Samnarine 6-11, 11-7, 11-9, 12-10.
And in the two quarterfinals played Ramsumiar ousted Amit Rambaran 11-9, 11-6, 11-6 and Mohamed humbled Devanand Ramkissoon 11-7, 11-7, 11-8.
Competing in a three-player round-robin final, Khellawan of Gasparillo Cobras defeated Powergen's Mikah Stroude 11-6, 12-10, 11-5 and her Cobras-clubmate Tiana-Marie Fields 11-4, 11-5, 11-5 to take top honours.
Stroude outplayed Fields 11-3, 11-4, 11-5 for the second spot.
In the Under-13 Girls, Singles Powergen's Jerisse Elder emerged as the champion after beating Fields11-3, 11-6, 11-4 and Yaisa-Marie Lawrence 11-2, 11-2, 11-7.
Fields again had to settle for the runners-up spot after he beat Lawrence 11-8, 8-11, 11-8, 11-7.
Ramsumair won the Cadet Boys competition 11-13, 11-6, 11-9, 11-6 against Samnarine in the title-match.
In the semis, Ramsumair battled past Mohammed 11-7, 3-11, 11-9, 6-11, 11-2 and Samnarine ousted Sareeq Sahadeo 11-4, 11-6, 11-6.
The elder had earlier won the Under-11 Girls Division with victories against Nadira Rampersad of Cobras' 11-1, 11-3, 11-3, and Lawrence 11-9, 11-3, 11-6.
Lawrence was second this time out after her 11-9, 10-12, 14-12, 11-7 beating of Rampersad.
Josiah Joseph of Powergen won the Under-11 Boys and Under-13 titles.
In the Under-11 age-group, Joseph secured the crown by walkover from Daniel Bhim in the title-match.
It was the second win on the day for Joseph over a member of the Bhim family after he ousted Joshua Bhim in his semifinal, 11-3, 5-11, 11-8, 11-7 while Daniel dumped Jamal David 11-4, 11-4, 11-8.
And in the Under-13 Division, Joseph humbled Joshua Bhim 11-9, 11-3, 8-11, 11-9.
Earlier in the final-four, Joseph overcame Sheldon Look 11-4, 11-9, 11-4, and Bhim lost the first set to Daniel Bhim, who then retired hurt to hand the former victory.
