T&T men’s hockey player Teague Marcano ended with a tournament-high 31 goals from eight matches, eight more than his nearest rival in leading Southgate to the top spot in the England Hockey League Super 6s Indoor Championships Men’s Division One competition on January 14 and promotion to the Premier Division for 2025.
This after the 23-year-old Marcano followed up his first weekend of 17 goals in four matches with a further 14 goals in four matches last weekend, inclusive of three hat-tricks as Southgate finished the nine-club round-robin competition with 22 points from a possible 24, six more than fellow promoted team, the second placed Canterbury, the former club of Southgate's player/coach, and former T&T international Kwandwane Browne, who missed the final weekend of matches due to his commitments as assistant coach of the England men's outdoor team which is currently contesting Paris Olympic Qualifiers in Oman.

On Saturday, in their top-of-the-table clash with the fellow promoted club, Beeston, Marcano picked up from where he left off the week prior with five goals (7th, 9th, 10th, 14th, 17th) in their 12-5 triumph to take a two points leads on the standings, which they never relinquished afterwards.

Jacob Payton led the Exeter with a hat-trick of his own with Dylan Parry also on target in the 31st.
Meanwhile, Marcano and his teammates which includes former T&T international Kwandwane Browne, 45, the clubs' player/coach will now shift their focus to the England Hockey League Men’s Premier Division Top Six which flicks off on Saturday, February 10.
The tournament will feature Wimbledon, Holcombe, Southgate, Surbition, Old Georgians, and Hampstead & Westminster, the former club of both T&T players.
This after Southgate, making a return to the Premier Division, ended the first half of the league season in the sixth spot with five wins from 11 matches for 16 points
Old Georgians lead the 12-club table with 30 points, the same as Surbiton, but with a superior goal-difference of plus-51 to plus-47 followed by Holcombe with 27, Wimbledon with 24, and Hampstead & Westminster, fifth with 21.
