GEORGETOWN - Hayley Matthews won two of the top prizes awarded at the prizegiving ceremony of the Colonial Medical Insurance Women’s Super50 Cup in Guyana.
Matthews finished the tournament as the leading wicket-taker with 17 wickets and the top all-rounder with 233 runs and 17 wickets.
Other winners on the night were, Deandra Dottin of Barbados, who copped the award for most runs, finishing with 299 runs and eighthwickets for her bowling efforts. T&T’s Karishma Ramharack who took the most catches, totaling six. Barbados’ wicket-keeper Kycia Knight had the most dismissals with seven (5 catches and 2 stumpings).
Barbados finished the tournament 5 points clear of T&T, by virtue of winning their round five clash, as both teams entered this round, one point apart. Deandra Dottin with a blistering 73 runs and 6/43, ensured her team lifted the title for a second consecutive year.
The Cricket West Indies Women’s T20 Blaze starts today from 9 am, all three matches will be played at the National Stadium in Providence.
