Adrian Millette and Kirk Abraham scored a goal each as Central Bank of T&T (CBTT) blanked South West Regional Health Authority All Stars 2-0 to secure the title when the inaugural Trinbago Futsal League Corporate Cup, organised by the Futsal Association of T&T (FATT) in collaboration with AyLi Events concluded at the Eastern Regional Indoor Sports Arena in Tacarigua on Sunday.
Earlier on in the morning session when the knockout phase of the competition kicked off with quarterfinal matches, Central Bank who took home the $12,000 winners' prize battled past Republic Bank Financial Holdings 2-1 and South West Regional Health Authority, who collected $6,000 eked out a 1-0 triumph over the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.
In the other two last-eight encounters, Plipdeco stunned Ministry of Works and Transport Pure Division 4-3 while Prison Service spanked last year's winners Proman 5-1.
In the semifinals, Central Bank, runner-up last year, whipped Plipdeco 4-1 and South West Regional Health Authority battled past high-flying Prison Service 5-3.
On Saturday's final day of round-robin matches at the same Tacarigua venue, the Ministry of Works and Transport Pure Division and Prison Service topped their respective six-team groups.
In Group A, the Ministry of Works and Transport Pure Division who started the day in the fourth spot blanked previous leaders the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs 2-0 to climb to the top of the standings with ten points from five matches, one more than Central Bank, who moved from fourth to second on the table with a 3-1 defeat of Proman who started the day as joint leaders with the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, with eight points each.
In Group B, Prison Service expectedly remained at the top of standings on goal difference ahead of Southwest Regional Health Authority All Stars after hammering Flow 15-3.
Southwest Regional Health Authority All Stars blanked Caribbean Gas Chemical Limited 3-0 and Plipdeco outclassed Republic Bank Financial Holdings 5-2.
