Top-or­der bats­men Navin Bidaisee and Ja­son Mo­hammed scored hun­dreds as Pow­er­gen pow­ered to a strong po­si­tion at stumps on Day 1 of their Trinidad and To­ba­go Crick­et Board (TTCB) Pre­mier­ship Di­vi­sion 1 match against Bess Mo­tors Marchin Pa­tri­ots at Marchin, Char­lieville on Sat­ur­day.

Mo­hammed and Bidi­asee stepped up af­ter the dis­missals of Cephas Coop­er and Je­re­my Solozano, the bats­men who came in­to the match with cen­turies from the last round.

Coop­er was dis­missed for ten, hav­ing been caught by Matheus Ko­mal off a de­liv­ery from the tall pac­er Ri­val­do Ram­logam, and So­lazano scored a pa­tient 50 as he con­tin­ued his good form. Solozano hit five fours in his knock and shared in a 93-run part­ner­ship with the West In­dies all-rounder. When Solozano was dis­missed at 107 for two, Mo­hammed joined Bidaisee, and to­geth­er they put to­geth­er a 149-run part­ner­ship in 32.1 overs.

Bidaisee de­part­ed at 256 for 101, his in­nings laced with 11 fours and three six­es. Mo­hammed con­tin­ued with Mbe­ki Joseph, and at the close they were 319 for three. Mo­hammed will re­sume this morn­ing on 105 (14 fours and one six), and Joseph will re­sume on 37.

At the Pris­ons ground, the Queen’s Park spin­ners con­tin­ued their good form as they bowled Pris­ons out for a mea­gre 61 in just 32 overs. Bryan Charles led the car­nage, as the off­spin­ner took five for 18 in 11 overs and Yan­nic Car­ri­ah took two for 11.

In re­sponse, Amir Jan­goo scored a sec­ond hun­dred in con­sec­u­tive match­es as the West In­dies bat­ter hit five fours in his un­beat­en 111. He shared in a 41-run part­ner­ship with Jyd Goolie, then an 118-run part­ner­ship with Red Force cap­tain Joshua Da Sil­va, who scored a 53-ball 58.

At the close, Jan­goo was un­beat­en on 111 and Tion Web­ster un­beat­en on 29.

Jo­hann Je­re­mi­ah scored the day’s fourth hun­dred, as Vic­to­ria scored 257 all out against Cen­tral Sports York­shire, who were 163 for four at stumps.
