Playing in the opening match of the double-header at the Central Regional Indoor Sporting Arena, Saith Park, Chaguanas, the six-foot-five inches tall, former national standout Blackman, was the main attacker and the difference between the two teams in leading West Side Stars to victory in straight sets over Toco Youths Volleyball Academy.
Despite the absence of their marquee players Delicia Pierre and Malika Davidson, Blackman led Stars to a 25-15, 25-19, 25-7 win over the opposition which fielded Australia-based senior national women's netball standouts Samantha Wallace, and New Zealand-bound netballer Daystar Swift.
In the men's opening contest, Morrison gave an inspiration all-round performance to lead Technocrats over the national captain Ryan Stewart's Glamorgan in four close sets, 25-22, 25-14, 21-25, 25-22.
