Team cap­tain Dwight Jor­dan led from the front as the Wa­ter and Sew­er­age Au­thor­i­ty (WASA) was crowned the 2026 cham­pi­ons of the Trin­ba­go Fut­sal Cor­po­rate Cup (TFCC) with a 6-5 win over their work col­leagues, WASA Sports and Cul­tur­al Club, at the Mal­oney In­door Sports Are­na, Mal­oney, on Sat­ur­day.

Jor­dan was named the tour­na­ment’s ‘Most Valu­able Play­er’ and his 39 goals al­so sw him cap­tured the ‘Most Goals’ award, as he led his team to the $12,000 win­ner’s prize and brag­ging rights, while the WASA Sports and Cul­tur­al Club (WASA SCC) col­lect­ed $6,000 as sec­ond place fin­ish­ers.

The Trinidad and To­ba­go Prison Ser­vice got the third spot with a sim­i­lar­ly en­ter­tain­ing 5-4 vic­to­ry over the South-West Re­gion­al Health Au­thor­i­ty (SWRHA) to earn them­selves $3,000.

In the semi­fi­nals, Jor­dan, who was al­so the lead­ing scor­er in the com­pe­ti­tion with 39 goals, and WASA de­feat­ed Prison Ser­vice 6-3, while WASA SCC edged South­west Re­gion­al Health Au­thor­i­ty 3-2, in­spired by goal­keep­er Luke Ram­per­sad, the ‘Best Goal­keep­er’ of the com­pe­ti­tion.

The even­tu­al cham­pi­ons had ear­li­er fin­ished as run­ners-up to the Tu­na­puna/Pi­ar­co Re­gion­al Cor­po­ra­tion in the Arthur Lok Jack Group F with six points, three points adrift of the ta­ble-top­pers, who was the lone team to get a win over them dur­ing the tour­na­ment, 4-2 back on Au­gust 23 at the South­ern Re­gion­al In­door Sports Are­na,

Fel­low fi­nal­ists, WASA SCC end­ed in the third spot in the Is­abel Ur­su­lar Teshea Group E with four points, the same as San Fer­nan­do City Cor­po­ra­tion, and two adrift of group win­ners First Cit­i­zens, who tal­lied six points, to qual­i­fy for the round of 16 as one of four best third-place fin­ish­ers, along with the top two teams of each of the six groups.

This was af­ter WASA whipped First Cit­i­zens 6-1 in the round-of-16 and had a nar­row 3-2 win over Tu­na­puna/Pi­ar­co Re­gion­al Cor­po­ra­tion in the quar­ter­fi­nals, while WASA SCC dumped Hol­i­day Snacks 5-1 be­fore slip­ping past Unipet 2-1.

The 23 teams in this year’s tour­na­ment re­flect­ed the breadth of the na­tion­al econ­o­my, draw­ing en­tries from util­i­ties, fi­nan­cial ser­vices, health, pub­lic safe­ty, en­er­gy, man­u­fac­tur­ing, and pro­fes­sion­al ser­vices.

Ge­of­frey Ed­wards, Pres­i­dent of the Fut­sal As­so­ci­a­tion of Trinidad and To­ba­go (FATT), speak­ing at the clos­ing, not­ed that grow­ing from 12 teams to 23 in a sin­gle year tells that the cor­po­rate com­mu­ni­ty has rec­og­nized what they be­lieved from the out­set—that the court is one of the most ef­fec­tive board­rooms avail­able to an or­ga­ni­za­tion.

Ed­wards con­grat­u­lat­ed WASA on a cham­pi­onship thor­ough­ly earned and al­so com­mend­ed every or­ga­ni­za­tion that com­mit­ted staff, time, and re­sources across four de­mand­ing week­ends of fut­sal fea­tur­ing 49 match­es and 306 goals, show­cas­ing skill and speed, and al­so salut­ed the host are­nas, match of­fi­cials, and vol­un­teers, whom he said, “With­out them a tour­na­ment of this scale could not have been de­liv­ered to stan­dard.”
