For­mer na­tion­al Davis Cup play­er Dex­ter Ma­hase emerged as the Men's A Sin­gles Cham­pi­on of the Prom­e­nade Clas­si­fied Ten­nis Cham­pi­onships at the Club Courts in Par­adise Pas­ture, San Fer­nan­do on Sun­day.

Ma­hase over­pow­ered his fa­ther Har­ry Ma­hase 6-2, 6-0. Dex­ter, a left-han­der with a big serve and siz­zling fore­hand, kept his op­po­nent at bay to cap­ture the ti­tle in just 40 min­utes.

The tour­na­ment con­tin­ues on Sat­ur­day with Ladies Sin­gles ac­tion from 4 pm. (NC)
