Reigning Caribbean men's champion, T&T's Dexter St Louis and Rheann Chung closed off the year on a good note capturing the men's and women's titles at the Reliability Maintenance Services Limited Super Singles Table Tennis Championships played at the Jean Pierre Complex, Mucuarepo Road, yesterday. The France based St Louis, one of three top Caribbean men's singles players in the tournament, played unbeaten in five matches in a six man group, which included the Farley brothers of Barbados, Kevin and Trevor.
St Louis won all of his matches in straight sets, starting off against the older Farley, Trevor, who he defeated in the final of the Caribbean Championships in French Guiana in July this year. Meanwhile, three-time women's singles champion Rheann Chung, who is also based in France, came out on top, despite going down in five sets to Ashley Quashie. The 2008 champions Guyana's Colin France and Verna Edwards did not enter the tournament.
