Youth Olympic gold medal­list swim­mer Chris­t­ian Homer joins na­tion­al record-hold­er shot put­ter Cleopa­tra Borel-Browne and star shoot­er Roger Daniel as they lead the list of ath­letes that will be rep­re­sent­ing T&T at the up­com­ing Com­mon­wealth Games. The event will be held in New Del­hi, In­dia from Oc­to­ber 3-14. Homer won gold in the Boys' 50 me­tres back­stroke at the in­au­gur­al Games held in Sin­ga­pore, last month.

Both Borel-Browne and Daniel, won bronze medals at the 2006 Com­mon­wealth Games, held in Mel­bourne, Aus­tralia. The team named by the T&T Com­mon­wealth Games Fed­er­a­tion al­so has a num­ber of medal­lists from this year's Cen­tral Amer­i­can and Caribbean (CAC) Games in Puer­to Ri­co.

An­nette Knott will lead the team as the Chef de Mis­sion and she will be as­sist­ed by Wen­dell Labastide. T&T will be rep­re­sent­ed for the first time by para-ath­lete Shan­tol Ince who will par­tic­i­pate in three swim­ming events.

Oth­er par­tic­i­pat­ing sports in­clude three team sports, Hock­ey women and men, gold and sil­ver medal­list re­spec­tive­ly at the 2010 CAC Games and the net­ball. Oth­er sports are ath­let­ics, archery, aquat­ics, paras­port, box­ing, cy­cling, gym­nas­tics, shoot­ing and squash.
