The na­tion­al Wushu team vis­it­ed Chi­na last month to at­tend the In­ter­na­tion­al Shaolin Fes­ti­val and Cham­pi­onships. The team un­der­went tech­ni­cal train­ing with Chi­na's ex­pert coach­es. Sec­re­tary Gen­er­al Si­fu Rah­man Khabir stat­ed that years of knock­ing at the door of op­por­tu­ni­ty in the best in­ter­est to ed­u­cate ath­letes lo­cal­ly on for­eign soil is pay­ing off. The Peo­ple's Re­pub­lic of Chi­na, along with the back­ing of the In­ter­na­tion­al Wushu Fed­er­a­tion in Bei­jing Chi­na, spon­sored T&T's ath­letes to go to Chi­na. In­ter­na­tion­al Wushu Fed­er­a­tion (IWUF) Pres­i­dent Wang Xi­aolin gave his word to help T&T, a mem­ber coun­try of IWUF since 1989 and an ac­tive par­tic­i­pant in Wushu ac­tiv­i­ty world­wide.
