Records tumbled at the National Age Group Short Course Championship at the National Aquatic Centre in Balmain Couva on Friday night and yesterday morning and little Keryn Burke was among one of two swimmers on the lips of many.
The talented (9-10) age bracket Atlantis swimmer shattered the record she herself had set in the 50 metres butterfly in a super quick time of 31.37 on Friday night.
And yesterday she was at it again in the preliminaries of the 100 metres freestyle, splashing to a lightning-fast 1:02.32 for the top spot.
Burke was last night scheduled to contest the final of the event, where expectations were high of her breaking the record for another time.
Meanwhile, Anpherne Bernard (9-10), of Tidal Wave Aquatics, also broke the 100m breaststroke record in a time of 1:21.03, and like Burke he was expected to re-enter the pool in the final last night.
