World 400m 2022 indoor champion Jereem ‘The Dream’ Richards will lead a four-member T&T team to the 21st World Athletics Indoor Championships at the Kujawy-Pomorska Arena Torun in Torun, BiT City, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Poland, from March 20 - March 22, 2026 in Poland.
The team, which also includes Leah Bertrand, Tyra Gittens-Spotsville and Nathan Cumberbatch, was announced by the National Association of Athletics Administrations of T&T on Friday.
The 32-year-old Richards, who was also part of the 4x400m relay team which won bronze at the World Indoor Championship in 2012, will compete in the 400 metres.
The Point Fortin-born Richards is the current 200 m and 400 m indoor champion.
The 23-year-old Bertrand will compete in the 60 metres, while 27-year-old Gittens-Spotsville will compete in the long jump, and 21-year-old Cumberbatch, in the 800 metres.
The team will depart T&T on Monday, March 16, and return on Monday, March 23.
The other members of the travelling team will include team manager Jehue Gordon, coach Donavan Spotsville and Nicole Fuentes-Charles as team medic.
