Shun-Shauna Mason and Kwanieze John scored two tries each as Royalians crushed host Police 38-5 to be crowned champions of the 2019 T&T Rugby Football Union Women's Division at the St James Police Training Academy, St James on Sunday.
With the win, the Carlton Felix-coach Royalians currently ended their six-matches round-robin campaign with a perfect 6-0 record to dethrone the Lawwomen as champions and also add to their women's knockout title won last month courtesy a 39-27 win.
Mason got the first try of the match in the ninth minute for a 5-0 lead while Aqiyla O'Brien added the two-point conversion before the same combination doubled the score to 14-0 in the 11th minute.
However, on the stroke of half-time, Shernella Glaude got Police on the scoresheet to trim the deficit to 14-5 after team-mate Angel Jorsling missed the conversion.
A minute into the second-half John, recently back from a stint in Europe got her first try followed by a conversion from Latifah Carliste to push the lead back to 16 points, at 21-5.
With the minutes ticking away Royalians virtually wrapped up the victory and the title when Tenisha Samuel-Duke scored her first try and the team's fourth in the 29th minute with Carliste scoring the conversion once again for the 28-5 advantage.
The duo of Alex Lewis and John then added a try each in the 33rd and 37th minutes, with Kanisha Vincent missing both conversions as Royalians strolled to the 38-5 win.
In the T&TRFU Senior Division, Rainbow, recent winners of the divisional knockout title, leads Pool B with a 5-0 record and 24 points, eight ahead of Exiles ended their round-robin season in style by trampling Police 62-0 at Gasparillo from 4 pm.
With the win, Exiles secured the second spot with a 4-2 round-robin record and 16 points, ten ahead of Police who stayed third with ten points ahead of their final match on October 13, against Rainbow, who won by default from against Trinidad Northern (0-6), 28-0.
In Pool A, Rydeus was guaranteed top spot with a perfect 7-0 record and 33 points, eight ahead of Defence Force (5-2), who went under to Royalians (4-3), 24-36 at President's Ground, St Ann's on Saturday.
The title race in the Championship Division is a close battle with Caribs RFC I enjoying a narrow three points lead over bitter rivals Trinidad Northern, with Harvard RFC, a further three points back.
Carib rugger-men with their 3-1 record have 16 points followed by recent Marcus Minshall Cup winners, Trinidad Northern (13) and Harvard (2-2) with ten.
In the final two rounds of matches, Northern faces Royalians and Caribs tackle Harvard on October 12, while Roylians meet Harvard, and Northern plays Caribs on October 19.
