T&T's Women's rugby team just missed out on precious metal when they were beaten 0-5 by the Dominican Republic in the Women's 10 Plate Final of the Rugby Americas North Superweek in Barbados on Saturday.
The T&T women appeared to have been well on their way to the consolation prize after beating Curacao 27-0, and Barbados 5-0 on their way to the final. However, they failed to produce the goods in the final, as the Bajans scored a single try to confirm the win and the title.
In the Men's Under-19 division, T&T will today play against Bermuda for third and fourth. By virtue of finishing the group stage in second position, the T&T men earned a semifinal encounter against USA South, which they lost 18-5. In the other semis match, Mexico thrashed the Bermudans 17-0 to earn the right to face the USA South outfit in toay's final.
