San Juan North Secondary and Bishop Anstey High School, both won for the third time in three matches to remain on course for a title match in the Secondary School Girls Rugby League at the Queen’s Park Savannah in Port-of-Spain on Wednesday.
In the day's opener, Arissa Romany scored two tries and Annalise Luces added two conversions to lead Bishop Anstey to a comfortable 14-0 defeat of Providence Girls High School, which dropped to 1-2.
San Juan North registered its win over Bishop's Centenary College II, 17-0 with Akila Gomes scoring a try and conversion and the pair of Annika Noel, and Amanda Dhannie, each.
Tranquillity Government Secondary stayed in contention for a top-two finish to reach the title match after it was awarded a 20-0 default win against Bishop’s Centenary College I to improve to 2-2.
The final round of matches is carded for Wednesday at the same venue from 3.30 pm with Bishop Anstey facing Bishop's Centenary College I; followed by Providence versus Bishop's Centenary College II, and Tranquillity against San Juan North in the final encounter from 4.30 pm.
At the end of the round-robin phase, the top two schools will advance to the final on February 20 while third and fourth will contest the bronze medal match, and fifth and sixth in the battle to avoid the wooden spoon.
