The executive of the Secondary Schools Cricket League (SSCL) will meet on Monday to decide the future of their cricket competitions for this year.
This according to the president of the SSCL Surujdath Mahabir who said that circulars to his executive members have been sent out and on Monday, a decision will be made.
The league phase of this season's tournament was completed with new winners being crowned in Shiva Boys College out of Penal. The Flow Girls Hard Ball Tournament was also completed. However, the Boys Intercol series was not played as on the stroke of restarting the COVID-19 pandemic came about and the country was shut down.
With cricket schools more than likely reopening in September, it could also put paid to any chances of the Intercol being played. However, if there are cricket grounds available, the council, may consider hosting the Intercol in August as children will be home and flying for vacation may be out of the question.
