Liam Trepte, the re­cent­ly crowned Na­tion­al Road Cri­teri­um cham­pi­on, will lead a five-man T&T team to the Elite Road Caribbean Cy­cling Cham­pi­onships in Guade­loupe on the week­end (Oc­to­ber 14 and 15).

The Raiders Cy­cle and Mul­ti­sport club rid­er has en­joyed sev­er­al suc­cess­es in re­cent times, in­clu­sive of the road cri­teri­um which took place over 16 laps some two Sun­days ago, as well as the Un­der-23 ti­tle in the same event.

Trepte will be joined by Ron­dell Woods, Mau­rice Bur­nette, En­rique de Co­mar­mond and Ben­jamin Mout­tet, the win­ner of the T&T Cy­cling Fed­er­a­tion's (TTCF) Road Se­ries stage five at Trinci­ty In­dus­tri­al Es­tate in May.

The re­gion­al event ped­als off on Sat­ur­day with the Time Tri­al, while the Road Race will take place the fol­low­ing day. All the rid­ers took part in the To­ba­go Cy­cle Clas­sic and though they did not place among the top five in di­vi­sion two, they will be hop­ing to im­prove at the re­gion­al cham­pi­onships.

The team is be­ing coached by Ash­ton Williams while Rowe­na Williams, pres­i­dent of TTCF, is the man­ag­er. Williams (Rowe­na) will al­so at­tend the cy­cling con­gress while there. Joshua Alexan­der, a for­mer na­tion­al cy­clist, will be the me­chan­ic.
