Host Trinidad and To­ba­go Girls’ ‘A’ team, com­pris­ing Zara Walk­er, Anaya Roberts, and Tei­jha Welling­ton, cap­tured the Cen­tral Amer­i­can and Caribbean Ten­nis Con­fed­er­a­tion (COTECC) and World Ten­nis (for­mer­ly known as the In­ter­na­tion­al Ten­nis Fed­er­a­tion–ITF) 2026 ITF/COTECC Un­der-12 Team Com­pe­ti­tion Sub-Re­gion 4 Tour­na­ment ti­tle on Thursday.

The lo­cal team, coached by Javier Lewis of To­ba­go, se­cured the crown by de­feat­ing St Kitts & Nevis 2-0 in their best-of-three fi­nal at the Na­tion­al Rac­quet Cen­tre in Tacarigua.

​Welling­ton hand­ed the hosts the per­fect start when she blanked Cheri­ka Flem­ming 6-0, 6-0 for an ear­ly 1-0 lead. Roberts then sealed the ti­tle with a 6-4, 6-3 vic­to­ry over Briel­la Lake, punch­ing her team’s tick­et to the next round of the tour­na­ment to be held in Mex­i­co lat­er this year.

​In the third-place play­off, Suri­name over­came the T&T ‘B’ team of Suriya Ram­dath, Amelia Woo, and Bel­la Young 2-0. Suri­name’s Xa­m­ae Ooft de­feat­ed Woo 6-2, 6-2, be­fore Do­minique Tjon Aki­et ral­lied past Ram­dath 4-6, 6-2, 10-3.

​In the boys’ com­pe­ti­tion, the T&T ‘A’ team (Austin Ward, Hold­en Hadeed, and Nicholas McLetchie) fin­ished in third place af­ter los­ing their semi­fi­nal match against St Kitts & Nevis 2-1 on Thurs­day.

​In the boys’ fi­nal, Aru­ba, which ben­e­fit­ted from a semi­fi­nal bye, edged St Kitts & Nevis 2-1 to al­so ad­vance to the next round in Mex­i­co.
