Trinidad and Tobago’s senior men’s footballers will be hoping to end a 12-match winless streak under coach Dennis Lawrence when they tackle Venezuela in an international friendly at the Estadio Olimpico de la UCV, Caracas, Venezuela, from 6 pm today.
The Soca Warriors are coming off a disappointing 2-0 loss at home to Honduras in their latest Concacaf Nations League Group A match at the Hasely Crawford Stadium last Thursday, while Venezuela are fresh from a 4-1 whipping of Bolivia led by a double from China-based striker Solomon Rondon.
Missing from the T&T team which suffered the loss against the Central Americans are captain Khaleem Hyland, defender Daneil Cyrus and USA-based duo Joevin Jones and Kevin Molino due to club commitments.
T&T’s last win came against the United Arab Emirates 2-0 on September 6, 2018, with goals from Ataulla Guerra and Nathan Lewis in Girona, Spain.
