Christopher Govia and Kemp Orosco captured the 2018 T&T Cycling Federation (TTCF) national Time Trial and Road Race titles respectfully for Elite and Under-23 men and women out at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Toruba, San Fernando on Saturday and Sunday.
The Elite men started on Saturday Time Trial was a distance was 30Km (10 laps) which started at the Security booth and made a connecting loop to the second roundabout as was won by Govia of Team Breakaway in 55 minutes and two seconds with Sheldon Ramjit of Hummingbird eight second behind and Marcus Carvalho of Heatwave third in 55:26. From the 11 starters, only five completed the test.
Orosco of Team DPS clocked four hours, 25 minutes and 12 seconds to record victory in yesterday's 147km, which was another mapped out circuit of 23 Laps. The race also started and ended at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.
Carvalho and Ramjit switch places in this event to finish second and third respectively. All three cyclists finished together and got the same time of 4:25.12. The event attracted 14 riders, but only five finished.
Orosco also claimed the Under-23 title (4:25.12) from Nathan Alexander of Team Woods with Donnell Harrison of Rigtech Sonics third. and Ramjit recorded Please see attached official results.
